Cllr Martin Hassall

Cllr Martin Hassall

Martin Hassall is the District Councillor for Buckden, and was first elected to the District Council in May 2022. He serves as the Executive Councillor for Corporate & Shared Services and Huntingdonshire District Council's representative on the Combined Authority's Overview and Scrutiny Committee.

Prior to this, Martin sat on Buckden Parish Council and has lived in the village since 1996. He has been part of multiple community bodies, including the A1 Safety Group, the Christmas Fair and Lights Committee and the Large-Scale Planning Committee. He is a former Global Chief Risk Officer (CRO), and his experience includes many senior management roles. He also studied an MSC in Geology.

Martin would like to see more Active Travel improvement schemes completed in the District, having become passionate about the issue when him and his wife Jeanette were raising their two sons and they were unable to safely cycle to school.
