Sarah Conboy talking on proposed local government reorganisation in Cambridgeshire
The government is planning a major reform of local government, planning to replace District and County Councils with Unitary Authorites (which combine both roles). Discussions are now taking place on how this can work in Cambridgeshire, and how the possibilities will affect people in Huntingdonshire.
Sarah Conboy, leader of Huntingdonshire District Council will speak this, in the context of ongoing devolution.
We run regular events throughout the year, some online and some in person.
Recent discussions around policy have looked at:
- the Greater Cambridge Partnership's proposals for transport in Cambridgeshire (Sarah Conboy)
- factors affecting success for young people in education (Peter Downes)
- smart motorways (James Catmur)
- where we are in the light of Brexit — and the prospects for rejoining the EU (Mark Argent).
Recent speakers at our annual dinner include Lucy Nethsingha and Norman Lamb.
Information on forthcoming events appears under the Events menu.
