Statement: Tory Mayor pulls Hunts parking funding

In response to Paul Bristow (Conservative Mayor of Cambs and Peterborough) withdrawing promised funding for parking in Huntingdonshire, a spokesperson for the HDC Liberal Democrat group said:

"The Mayor made an offer to provide funding for free parking in Huntingdonshire. We worked constructively with him to make that work with the limited funding offered, committing a huge amount of time and energy into making it work.

We then approved that scheme.

The Mayor has since changed his mind on the scheme he offered, and now withdrawn the offer entirely.

That decision is deeply disappointing for people in Huntingdonshire, and the situation we're in is caused entirely by his decision.
