Liberal Democrat Nathan Hunt has won the by-election for the vacant seat on Huntingdon Town Council, being elected as a councillor for the town's central ward.

Cllr Hunt won the by-election held on the 24th July, gaining the seat for the Liberal Democrats.

He beat three other candidates, including a sitting Conservative county councillor.

Following the election, Nathan Hunt said: “I'm incredibly pleased and thankful for the result, and my thanks go to everyone who supported me. I'm looking forward to getting to work at the town council!”

“The result shows how much people value the work done by the Lib Dem team in our area. This includes the work myself and Jo Harvey have already been able to do as district councillors to clean up our river and parks.”

“The Lib Dems are working hard for our area all year round, and we're the real alternative to the big two parties here.”
