Building a fairer Huntingdonshire for 7p in the pound

15 Jul 2026

7p doesn't buy you much these days. But the Lib Dem-led administration at Huntingdonshire District Council are delivering the services you rely on, while only keeping 7p of every £1 you pay in council tax.

From better leisure centres, to award-winning bin collections, the Liberal Democrats are making Huntingdonshire a fairer place to live, work, and enjoy. Here's more.

"For every £1 you pay in council tax, HDC only keep 7p. Here's what you get for that 7p..." [The image shows a £1 coin next to seven 1p coins in a stack]
"One of the best bin collection services in England! ...unlike Reform-led West Northants, who are cutting black bin collections to once every three weeks..." [Photo shows Cllr Nathan Hunt standing by a HDC branded bin lorry]
"Great leisure centres, which we're improving even more! (including Sawtry pool, which we reopened this year!) ...after the Conservatives gave it away back in 2019..." [Photo shows four councillors standing in a group and a OneLeisure Sawtry sign]
"And a strong safety net for those who need it most. ...by protecting over 500 households from homelessness and introducing one of the most generous council tax support schemes for working age people in the country..." [Photo shows a group of LD councillors by a Huntingdonshire flag]
"We're building a fairer Huntingdonshire and delivering the services you rely on... all with that 7p! Working hard for you. All year round." [Photo shows seven 1p coins in a stack]
