Greener, faster, fairer: Team Huntingdon fly the flag at Lib Dem Conference 2025

Local councillors and activists flew the flag for Huntingdon at the national Lib Dem Conference in Bournemouth this weekend.
Over four days, the party celebrated national and local success, and highlighted a positive, liberal, and progressive plan for Britain - including investing in clean energy, building transport networks fit for the future, ending the broken leasehold system, and protecting freedom of expression online.
The Liberal Democrats also set out their opposition to Nigel Farage's Reform party - highlighting the risk that Farage's Britain would mirror the worst of Trump's America.
The Huntingdon Lib Dem team contributed to a range of debates, and engaged with the various charities, campaign groups, and businesses that attended the event.
Cllr Debbie Mickelburgh, Chair of Huntingdon Lib Dems, said: “Both locally and nationally, the Lib Dems are on the up. We're setting out a positive plan for our area and the country, and bringing back a sense of hope.”
“The Huntingdonshire District elections next year are a massive opportunity for us, and we'll be fighting hard to paint our part of the map liberal orange.”
Cllr Nathan Hunt, Vice Chair of Huntingdon Lib Dems, said: “It’s been an incredibly successful conference for us. From leading calls for investing in green energy, supporting future Young Liberals councillors, and taking part in a swim to highlight the sewage pollution crisis, Team Huntingdon are taking a leading role in our party.”
“Now we're back, we're ready to hit the ground running - both by carrying on with working hard for our constituents, and by taking the fight to Reform and the last of the Conservatives.”
