Ed Davey visits Hunts to help “turf out the Tories”

Liberal Democrat leader Sir Ed Davey has visited Huntingdon constituency to support local candidates who aim to “turf out the Tories” across the area.
Ed helped plant a new wildflower bed in Offord D’Arcy with candidates and councillors, in the division which local champion and current parish councillor Liam Beckett hopes to gain from the Conservatives.
While visiting and speaking to local media, Ed highlighted the Conservative Party’s record in government, slashing funding for road maintenance and social care.
He also highlighted concern about the current Labour government’s National Insurance hikes, which are hitting working people across Cambridgeshire.
Speaking to the Hunts Post, Davey said that the Lib Dems “have a real chance of winning majority control” on Cambs County Council, and later commenting that the area is fertile ground for the party.
Speaking on the wider political picture, Ed highlighted that the Liberal Democrats are the only party calling for the UK to stand up to Donald Trump’s damaging and reckless tariffs.
