This petition calls on our local MP, Jonathan Djanogly, to oppose publicly this Government's current proposals attacking the BBC.
As a public service broadcaster, the BBC has a vital and unique place in the UK's media and cultural landscape and should be supported rather than constantly attacked by this Government. It plays a vital role in informing, educating and entertaining the nation and it promotes the UK around the world.
Mr Johnson is now trying to dismantle the BBC in a cynical attempt to save his failing premiership. This attack will be successful unless we let Tory MPs know that the general public believes the BBC is worth saving.
